Saucony Endorphin Elite Overview
The Saucony Endorphin Elite was engineered to be the brand’s top of the line, high-performance, road race day shoe. Featuring a unique design and stance mix to help push a runner’s limits and improve personal bests. They spent over four years in development, being built with the latest technologies to provide runners with a one of a kind turbocharged running experience.
With so many stand out features it is hard to even know where to start when breaking down the Endorphin Elite. But like with most supers shoes, it’s the full length carbon plate that is designed to really propel you forward. And with Saucony’s improved slotted (fork) designed carbon plate, they are promising their greatest energy return yet. To add even more rebound and performance return the Elite’s also feature Saucony’s new PWRRUN HD superfoam. Putting you at a tall 39.5 mm stack height, with a modest but fast feeling 8 mm drop. Creating what the brand is calling their most dynamic shoe yet.
The upper build of Endorphine Elite is designed with what they are calling a “next-to-skin” feel. Along with plush sock liner and side cutouts to provide an even more contoured fit. Making for a really lightweight running shoe. This combo also gives this shoe its very unique look. Another great feature is that the shoes are built with sustainable practices. Including both vegan and recycled materials. In terms of a complete racing shoe, Saucony has delivered what on paper looks to be a winner.
Conclusion
With the release of the Saucony Endorphin Elite, the brand is really making a statement in the super shoe market. Based on what we know so far, this will be one of the most advanced running shoes ever released. With a design that stands out, but is truly based on performance. Improving the typical carbon plate by “forking” the end. Stacking that on even more performance improving foam. And cutting out unneeded sole and upper to make the shoe lighter. I would love to get my hands on a pair for testing. But as of this article, the Endorphin Elite hasn’t been released. And I’m not sure I’ll be able to afford the $275 price tag once they are.
If you get a chance to test these in person, please let me know how they perform in the comments below!
