Held in Leipzig, Germany on 9/11/2021, the 2021 HYROX World Championship was an event to remember. With what many people are calling a huge upset in the men’s division. We would see a new champ crowned. And there was an absolute dominant performance in the women’s division. As one woman separates herself from the rest of the talented competition. Let’s take a look at the results for both the men’s and women’s divisions!
2021 HYROX World Championship Results
Women’s Division
- Lauren Weeks — 1:03:43
- Viola Oberländer — 1:06:00
- Rachel Schreiber — 1:06:55
- Elisabeth Sarah Kholti — 1:08:20
- Imke Salander — 1:08:25
It was a dominant performance by returning champion Lauren Weeks. Winning her second HYROX Women’s World Championship in the last 2 years. Finishing a shocking, 3 plus minutes ahead of runner up, Viola Oberlander. And then third place Rachel Schreiber. The biggest difference in the competition was by far the running. Which is where Weeks showed her dominance and continued to extend her lead throughout the race.
Men’s Division
- Tobias Lautwein — 1:00:00
- Alexander Roncevic — 1:01:04
- Tiago Lousa — 1:01:12
- Hunter McIntyre — 1:01:28
- David Magida — 1:03:07
In a shocker, returning 2020 world champion Hunter McIntyre did not make the podium in 2021. Instead it was Tobias Lautwein who proved to be consistent enough in all of the workouts. While blazing through the runs in a consistent sub 4 minutes. Second place Alexander Roncevic may be the biggest surprise of the event. With many not expecting him to place where he did. And third place Tiago Lousa could be a force if he can put together a complete competition.
